Short add-on: Marble Mountains
Just south of Da Nang, the Marble Mountains are five limestone and marble hills and an important Buddhist pilgrimage site. Thuy Son, the most visited, has caves, tunnels and pagodas cut into the rock — Huyen Khong Cave, Tam Thai Pagoda and a viewpoint over the coast at the top. There are many steps (an elevator covers part of the climb), and the workshops at the foot of the hills sell marble carvings. It fits on the way to Hoi An or into a custom day; the entrance ticket is paid separately.
