About Linh Ung Pagoda
Linh Ung Bai But is a working Buddhist temple on the southern slope of Son Tra, facing Da Nang Bay. Its best-known feature is the white standing statue of Quan Am, the bodhisattva of compassion, which the temple describes as 67 metres high. Construction began in 2004 and the pagoda opened in 2010. Most visitors spend 60–90 minutes walking the courtyards, halls and sea-facing grounds.

Getting there
From Da Nang the drive crosses the Han River and follows the coast road towards Son Tra, then climbs to the temple car park. From Hoi An the car first runs north along the coast through Da Nang, about an hour in total. Tell other drivers "Linh Ung Bai But, Son Tra": the city has two other pagodas with the same name, at the Marble Mountains and Ba Na Hills.
A one-way ride works if you plan to continue elsewhere, but taxis are not always waiting at the temple. With a round trip the driver waits in the car park, and you can add a short stop on the way back, such as a Son Tra viewpoint or a beach café (+$4 for a stop under 30 minutes).

Watch the monkeys: don't feed them and keep food packed away.
Combine it: pair the pagoda with a Da Nang beach or the Marble Mountains for an easy half day.
