When Grab is the better choice
- You land in the daytime, have a working SIM or eSIM, and only carry one bag each.
- You are going a short distance to the city centre or My Khe Beach.
- You do not need a child seat.
Grab cars wait at the ride-hailing pick-up point outside arrivals. Check the plate before you get in.
When a taxi makes sense
Use the official taxi rank outside arrivals if your phone has no data and you just want to leave. Ask the driver to use the meter, and have small notes ready, as change can be a problem late at night.
When a private car is worth it
- Families: child seats are free, and a 7-seat car fits 5 people with luggage.
- Late or delayed flights: the driver tracks your flight and waits up to 90 minutes after an international landing at no cost.
- Longer trips: to Hoi An, Ba Na Hills or Hue, a fixed price is usually close to Grab, without surge pricing.
- No SIM yet: the driver is already waiting with your name on a sign.

What the private car price includes
- One price per car: a 5-seat car takes up to 3 guests with luggage, a 7-seat car up to 5 and a 16-seat van up to 12.
- Fuel, tolls and parking.
- Free child seats on request, plus bottled water, wet wipes and Wi-Fi in the car.
- No deposit: pay the driver at the end, in cash (VND or USD) or by bank transfer.
- If your driver is more than 15 minutes late, the ride is free.
