Short answer: Many flights from Korea, Singapore and other parts of Asia land in Da Nang late at night. Grab and taxis still run, but at 1–3 a.m. waits can be longer and some travellers have no data yet. A pre-booked private car meets you at arrivals with your name on a sign, from $8 + $3 night surcharge to city hotels and $18 + $3 to Hoi An, per car. Prices checked on 28 October 2026.
What to expect when you land at night
- International flights arrive at Terminal 2, domestic flights at Terminal 1. Both are open through the night.
- Immigration and baggage usually take 30–60 minutes after landing, longer when several flights land together.
- ATMs and SIM counters are in the arrivals hall, but some counters close late at night. An eSIM bought before you fly avoids the problem.
- Grab works at night, but there are fewer drivers and prices can be higher than in the daytime.

Airport pick-ups between 22:00 and 05:00 have a $3 surcharge per car. Rides from your hotel to the airport at night have no surcharge.

How the night pick-up works
- Send your flight number, hotel and number of guests when you book. You do not pay anything in advance.
- The day before, we send the driver's name, photo and car plate on WhatsApp.
- We follow your flight, so the driver is there when you actually land, even if the flight is late. Waiting is free for 90 minutes after an international landing.
- The driver waits outside arrivals with your name on a sign and helps with the bags.
- You pay the driver at your hotel, in cash (VND or USD) or by bank transfer.
Tips for a late arrival
- Tell your hotel you will check in after midnight, so reception keeps your room.
- Keep some US dollars or Vietnamese dong in small notes for the first night.
- If you travel with children, ask for a child seat when you book; it is free.
- Groups of 4 or more, or anyone with large luggage, should book a 7-seat car.
What the price includes
- One price per car: a 5-seat car takes up to 3 guests with luggage, a 7-seat car up to 5 and a 16-seat van up to 12.
- Fuel, tolls and parking.
- Free child seats on request, plus bottled water, wet wipes and Wi-Fi in the car.
- No deposit: pay the driver at the end, in cash (VND or USD) or by bank transfer.
- If your driver is more than 15 minutes late, the ride is free.
