Da Nang Shooting Range: Two Real Air-Gun Clubs (No Live Firearms)

If you have arrived here looking for a Da Nang shooting range where you can fire an AK-47, the honest answer is that you cannot — not here, and not anywhere in central Vietnam. What Da Nang does have is genuine, walk-in sport air-gun shooting: PCP air rifles and air pistols, indoors, at two real clubs. This page has been rewritten to say that plainly.

Short version. There are two shooting ranges in Da Nang that actually exist: Danang Shooting Club and Dana Sniper. Both are indoor air-gun ranges — PCP air rifles and air pistols at short distance — not live-firearm gun ranges. Details, addresses and what each one is like are below.

Earlier content revision (August 2026). An earlier version of this page listed four Da Nang shooting ranges. Three of them — “Hoa Vang Shooting Range”, “Son Tra Peninsula Outdoor Range” and “Marble Mountains Tactical Range” — could not be found to exist in either English or Vietnamese sources, and have been removed. We would rather this page be short and true than long and wrong.

The two real places to shoot in Da Nang

Both are air-gun clubs. Civilian firearm possession is prohibited in Vietnam, so this is what shooting means here — and it is a real sport, not a consolation prize: PCP air rifles at 10 metres reward exactly the same breathing and trigger control as any other discipline.

1. Danang Shooting Club — the established indoor club

323 Trần Hưng Đạo, Sơn Trà, Da Nang · Open in Google Maps

An indoor sport-shooting club using air rifles and air pistols, open to walk-in visitors and set up for first-timers. It is on the An Hải side of the river, which puts it within a short ride of the beach hotels. Session lengths, pellet counts and pricing are set by the club and change; ask when you arrive rather than trusting any number you read on a blog, including this one.

2. Dana Sniper — the second club, in Hải Châu

42 Phan Đình Phùng, Hải Châu, Da Nang · Open in Google Maps

Covered by the city newspaper Báo Đà Nẵng, which is a better signal of existence than any listing site. Also air rifles, also indoors, and central enough to combine with the cathedral and Hàn Market in one afternoon.

If you want live firearms, you have to go south

The live-ammunition tourist range most people are thinking of is at the Cu Chi Tunnels outside Ho Chi Minh City, roughly 950 km from Da Nang, where rounds are sold individually. There is no equivalent in Da Nang, Hội An or anywhere in the region. Military ranges near Hòa Vang are restricted army facilities and not open to visitors — if a tour operator offers you access to one, that is a reason to walk away, not a find.

Setting expectations before you book

Air-gun shooting is quiet, indoor and precise. There is no recoil to speak of, no ear protection drama, and it suits children and nervous first-timers far better than a live range would. If what you actually want is noise and recoil, save it for Cu Chi and spend the afternoon here on something Da Nang does better.

Safety, legality and what to bring

Both clubs are indoor air-gun ranges, so the rules are the club’s own rather than anything you need a licence for. Expect a short brief, eye protection, and a range officer who will not let you point the barrel anywhere but downrange. Bring your passport or a photo of it — some venues log visitors.

The legal position is worth stating once, clearly: civilian firearm possession is prohibited in Vietnam. Air guns for sport shooting are what the clubs operate. Anyone offering you live-ammunition shooting in the Da Nang area is either mistaken or offering you access to a restricted military facility. Decline it.

How to book

Neither club needs to be booked weeks ahead. Message them on Facebook or Zalo the day before, or simply turn up — both are set up for walk-ins. Weekend evenings are the busiest slot.

We are not publishing session prices here. The two earlier price tables on this page quoted figures for venues that do not exist, which is exactly the failure this rewrite is correcting. Ask the club, and treat any blog quoting an exact 2026 price for a Da Nang range as untested.

Frequently asked questions

Can I shoot a real gun in Da Nang?

No. Civilian firearm possession is prohibited in Vietnam and there is no live-ammunition range open to tourists in Da Nang, Hội An or the surrounding region. The nearest is the range at the Cu Chi Tunnels near Ho Chi Minh City, about 950 km south, where rounds are sold individually.

What kind of shooting can I do in Da Nang then?

Sport air-gun shooting — PCP air rifles and air pistols, indoors, at Danang Shooting Club on Trần Hưng Đạo and Dana Sniper on Phan Đình Phùng.

Is it suitable for children?

Air-gun ranges generally handle children better than live ranges do — there is no recoil and no muzzle blast — but each club sets its own minimum age. Ask before you go rather than arriving with a disappointed eight-year-old.

How much does it cost?

The clubs set and change their own pricing and neither publishes a rate card we could verify, so we are not quoting a number. Ask on arrival.

Do I need to book ahead?

Not usually. Both take walk-ins; weekend evenings are busiest.

Is there a shooting range in Hoi An?

We have not been able to find a shooting range in Hoi An itself. The nearest places to shoot are the two Da Nang clubs on this page, roughly 30 km and about 45 minutes north — an easy half-day trip by taxi or Grab, and a common add-on for people based in Hoi An.

Is there a gun range in Da Nang?

Not in the sense most visitors mean by it. “Gun range” usually implies live firearms, and there is no live-fire gun range in Da Nang. The two venues here are air-gun ranges, which is a different activity — quieter, indoors, and open to complete beginners.

Is there a shooting club in Da Nang?

Yes — two. Danang Shooting Club on Trần Hưng Đạo is the established indoor air-gun club, and Dana Sniper in Hải Châu is the second. Both are walk-in air rifle and air pistol ranges rather than live-firearm clubs; addresses and what to expect at each are in the sections above.

Where to go next

If the appeal was the adrenaline rather than the shooting specifically, Da Nang does that better elsewhere — the Hải Vân Pass on two wheels, or the free-fall tower at Fantasy Park in Ba Na Hills. Both are open, both are real, and neither needs a range officer.
